With more than 440,000 jobs needing to be filled in the construction industry this year (US Department of Labor, 2019), Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is at the forefront of creating workforce development initiatives.
They are building the workforce through the merit shop philosophy: that projects and personal advancement should be awarded based on performance, skills and achievement.
“Connecting people to amazing careers is important for our industry,” said ABC Rocky Mountain Chapter President & CEO Doug Carlson. “ABC helps our members develop people for the betterment of our communities.”
ABC Rocky Mountain Chapter (ABCRMC) is committed to developing this future workforce and has launched new tools informing job seekers about the benefits of going into careers in construction and directing them to a job board so they can directly apply for careers with ABC Members.
BuildYourFutureRockyMountain.com is a resource for high school students, transitioning military veterans and any job seekers to learn more about the benefits of pursuing a career in construction and to easily apply.
