Job Summary
We are looking for an ambitious Part-time Accounting Assistant to provide support to the financial department by assisting with various daily accounting tasks, primarily AR. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances.
The ideal candidate will have previous accounting experience. The ideal candidate will also be able to work comfortably with numbers and will have strong attention to detail.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Review and email sales invoices daily to customers
- Review and email customer statements on a monthly basis
- Applying payments to customer accounts
- Complete collections on customer accounts
- Review and authorize return requests
- Keep customer accounts current
- Complete customer credit application verifications
- Collect resale certificates and keep files current
- Work with other departments as necessary
- Assist with monthly and yearly accounting processes
- Assist with other projects as assigned
- Miscellaneous filing and organization of accounting records
Requirements
- Proven accounting experience or other relevant experience
- Excellent organizational skills
- Great attention to detail
- Good with numbers and comfortable with computer/accounting systems
- Knowledge of MS Office and familiarity QuickBooks a plus
