_p__strong_Purpose_/strong__/p__p_Contributes to the overall success of Scotia Investments Jamaica’s Portfolio Advisory Group by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures._/p__p__strong_Accountabilities_/strong__/p__ul__li_Conduct due diligence on local, regional and international equities including thorough forecasts of business and industry trends, and modeling of financial statements to inform investment decisions_/li__/ul__p__br /__/p__ul__li_Assist with the analyses of corporate debt securities including thorough financial and credit risk assessments, forecasts of business and industry trends, and modeling of financial statements to inform investment decisions_/li__/ul__p__br /__/p__ul__li_Create and maintain financial models which capture relevant information on industry trends, financial statements, stocks and corporate debt securities_/li__/ul__p__br /__/p__ul__li_Develop and maintain valuation models and perform valuations for both private and public companies_/li__/ul__p__br /__/p__ul__li_Perform valuations for companies that intend to raise capital via private placement and initial public offering for fixed income and equity securities_/li__/ul__p__br /__/p__ul__li_Monitor fundamental, economic, sector, and company specific information and update investment thesis/reports/recommendations where necessary through the analysis of information obtained from financial publications, investment banking firms, government agencies, trade publications, company sources, and personal interviews_/li__/ul__p__br /__/p__ul__li_Evaluate and analyze the relative value of various corporate debt and equity securities in a given industry or market_/li__/ul__p__br /__/p__ul__li_Work in close collaboration with portfolio managers, investment advisors, traders and investment bankers to provide thorough analysis and actionable recommendations_/li__/ul__p__br /__/p__ul__li_Provide portfolio managers with forecasts and outlook for the equities markets and assist with the development of capital market expectations for fixed income and other asset classes_/li__/ul__p__br /__/p__ul__li_Attend investor briefings for select listed companies_/li__/ul__p__br /__/p__p__strong_ The ideal candidate should possess:_/strong__/p__ul__li_Excellent understanding of corporate debt and equity markets_/li__li_Excellent understanding of various valuation techniques for fixed income and equity securities _/li__li_Highly proficient in creating and interpreting financial and quantitative models_/li__li_Good programming skills in Excel, VBA or the equivalent_/li__li_Ability to explain difficult concepts to a non-technical audience_/li__li_Superb problem solving, analytical and decision making skills _/li__li_Excellent written and verbal communication skills_/li__/ul__p__br /__/p__p__strong_Qualification & Experience_/strong__/p__ul__li_Graduate Degree in Finance, Accounts or a related quantitative discipline _/li__li_CFA designation or in pursuit would be an asset_/li__li_At least two (2) years of experience in an analyst role would be an asset_/li__li_Licensed by the Financial Services Commission_/li__/ul__p__br /__/p__p__strong__u_Kindly put the job title in the subject line when applying._/u__/strong__/p__p__br /__/p__p__strong_Your comprehensive resume should be received by Friday, December 9, 2022. _/strong__/p__p__strong_Please n_em_ote only persons short-listed for an interview will be contacted._/em__/strong__/p_
